The DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and PPF (Petrol Particulate Filter) are devices fitted to most modern diesel and petrol vehicles. Located in the exhaust system, they are designed to trap soot and particulate emissions. You’ll often notice that vehicles equipped with these filters have clean tailpipes and produce little to no visible smoke, even under hard acceleration.
Both the DPF and PPF are intended to self-clean by entering a ‘regeneration’ mode when the exhaust system reaches high temperatures. However, frequent short journeys or low-speed driving can prevent successful regeneration, eventually leading to blockage of the filter.
Our DPF and PPF removal software disables all associated functions within the ECU, allowing the filter to be physically removed without triggering limp-home modes or check engine lights. We strongly recommend checking local vehicle testing laws before removing the DPF or PPF, as doing so may cause the vehicle to fail emissions testing.
If you are located outside of the UK, please check your local laws. For UK customers and installers, Under the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations and the Road Traffic Act 1988 it is an offence to use on a road a vehicle which has been modified in such a way that it no longer complies with the air pollutant emissions standards it was originally designed to meet. Removal of emissions control devices is intended to support motorsport and off-road applications.
