Factory Speed Limiters

Many vehicle ECUs support electronic speed limiters. Some come activated from the factory, while others do not. High-performance German vehicles are typically limited to 155mph, whereas commercial vehicles are often restricted to 56, 60, or 70mph.

Can you adjust the speed limiter?

We can add or remove speed limiters on a wide range of engine control units. However, not all ECUs support adjustable speed limiters within the calibration area, and on some vehicles, speed limiters are set in the coding instead. In many cases, the file will need to be submitted to us, so we can check.
